|2as1 Antenatal Classes was founded in 2007 and is run by Susan Mac Nicholas R.G.N.R.M (Registered General Nurse & Registered Midwife) and Antenatal Facilitator. Susan is also a member of the INMO and is registered with An Bórd Altrainis.
Antenatal classes are delivered in their entirety by a qualified midwife registered with An Bord Altranais qualify for cover by under certain Health Insurance providers/policies.
Susan trained in St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Elm Park, Dublin as a nurse from 1989-1992 where she continued as a staff nurse until Sept. 1993.She then trained as a Student Midwife from 1993 to 1995 in the Rotunda Hospital, Parnell Square, Dublin, graduating with the Solomon’s Medal for ‘Best Practical Midwife’. She then staffed both Full-Time and Part-time on all wards in this maternity hospital, between 1996 and 2005.
Since February 2007, 2As1 have been running high calibre and successful classes for both group and private couples/individuals along with a home-visit service for its clients.2As1 is Susan’s full time occupation, her promise is to keep as up to date as possible to impart the latest research and recognised knowledge to her expectant parents-to-be.
Susan maintains her knowledge by attending regular courses, conferences and meetings. In addition to completing accredited Antenatal Facilitator courses run by Judith Schott, Susan also attended & successfully completed Preparation for ‘Birth & Parenthood’ in University College Cork /Cork University Maternity Hospital in 2012-2013 which also involved the facilitation of Adult Learning.
Susan, as well as being highly qualified and experienced in every aspect of antenatal & postnatal care has also been noted by all clients for her unique warm and engaging manner of presentation.
Susan has chaired a number of Antenatal seminars and has also had a number of television appearances as well as contributed to both radio programmes and articles in national papers across a broad range of issues which affect expecting couples and new parents on a daily basis.
Susan is also a mother of three school going children and rates her experience as a parent to be an invaluable asset in her career as an Antenatal Facilitator.
